Announcements
XLI Data Privacy - Friday, April 29, 2011

There has been some confusion regarding the nature of the Spectrum XLI system with respect to data storage and review. This letter is hoped to unambiguously clear up any misconceptions.

The privacy of data collected with the XLI system is paramount. No one, not Spectrum eXternal Line Inspection nor any other entity sees in any way, shape or form the data collected by users of the XLI system. The data exists and is seen only on the computer the field data collector is downloaded into.

If people collecting or working with the data explicitly choose to, survey data can be e-mailed or transferred to anyone, just as any file can be e-mailed or copied (i.e. on a USB drive).

For purposes of software license fee collection only, our server receives a count of the number of data points collected but no details whatsoever of the contents of the data point(s).

As a review, XLI data can exist in one of three states all of which are heavily encrypted: New (not printable or editable); Open (editable, exportable, graphable); and Published (non-editable, exportable, graphable).

Great Customer Feedback - Wednesday, February 02, 2011

We had to share this unsolicited customer feedback that came to us a week or so ago. ----------------------

On another note, I am currently processing the job I just did for Xxxxxx Xxxxxx, and just wanted to let you know how impressed I am with your equipment and software.  Almost everything I can think of to smooth out and speed up the processing of data is there.

Great work, and I cant wait to see the future updates.

Important XLI Enhancements - Thursday, November 18, 2010

Spectrum External Line Inspection (XLI) announces two important enhancements to their complete pipeline integrity / ECDA survey system.

The system controller now includes two voltage channels, each simultaneously recording DC and AC. This allows intensive surveys combining CIPS and side-drain voltage gradient surveys while recording both the AC and DC pipe-to-soil potentials with ACVG/DCVG.

Also new is version 1.6 of their very intuitive software Field Mouse, which now supports additional input devices such as the Radiodetection PCM+ and a Laser Range Finder.

The range finder allows capturing full 3D coordinates of facilities and buildings off of the pipeline ROW without having to occupy their position, increasing technician efficiency. Data is exportable to GIS systems, GoogleEarth or to XLI’s own reports.
